The lacegroup 't Aemstelkant was grounded in 1984 as the 4th lacegroup in Amsterdam
It then was and still is the only group, which meets in the evening. Originally the evening was chosen, because most of the members had a job, therefore meeting during the day was difficult.

The lacegroup is part of the L.O.K.K., the Dutch Organisation for the Art of Lace

Still we meet in the evening every first tuesday of the month.

This year the lacegroup exsists 25 years and therefore a exhibition was organized in the Public Library in Amsterdam, Buitenveldert.

For this exhibition we have been busy these past years in tranforming towers, houses and art-work of Amsterdam into lace. Furthermore we made projects designed by Karen Mary Iversen.
In the showcase there are little cushions with Dutch lace edgings, lace pillows and a little statue of a lacemaker.

The exhibition did run until the 31st of December 2009.

On the Jubilee Festival of the LOKK, on the 27th of September 2003 our group represented itself with a stand and a booklet with designs of the group members. The designs of the booklet were exhibited during that day.
In April 2003 there was a big exibition of all kind of arts made by non-proffessionals in Alkmaar. Theme of this event was mirrors. Our lace group was also present with a piece named "Spinnenspel" or "Game of Spiders". The piece was beautifull mirrored in the plate of plexiglass, placed on a dark underground. On this photo the piece was exhibited on our stand in the Julilee Festival of the LOKK. Unfortunately on a white fabric because of the bad light.
In 1983 the LOKK organized an exhibition around the theme "Fair".
Our lacegroup made a merry-go-round. Every member made a part of the roof and a chair.
