's Gravenmoerse Kant

Responding to a question on Arachne about 2 grounds or stitches used in the 's Gravenmoer Lace I promised to put some examples of the Rozengrond (Roseground) and the Kruisslag (Virgin stitch or Fond de Vierge) on my website togehter with a bookmark in 's Gravenmoer Lace. Later on I will search for more information to give about the 's Gravenmoer Lace.
Bookmark, I made in 1994.
The design is of Paula van Astenrode-Verzijden.
Around the "Duitse Plaatje" in the middle Roseground is made.
An example of Roseground as it is used in the 's Gravenmoer Lace. It is made in honeycumb stitch: twist, twist cross, pin twist, twist, cross.
This is a simple Virgin stitch, made is a simple torchon stitch: twist, cross, pin, twist, cross with at the corners a half stitch: twist, cross.
There are also more complicated Virgin stitches used in the 's Gravenmoer Lace. A few examples are given below.
