Drawing a corner in a Torchon edging with fans using one pin and flowers with 6 petals

First we start to draw the motif using the way as described in the circular edging. In this care we draw a flower with 6 petals, around that a cloth stitch trail. Take care to save a copy of the document of the grid of dots and not to draw in the original document.

Draw2 halfs of the flower. The bottom half of the flower on top and the upper half at hte bottom. Draw around these two halves the cloth stitch trails and indicate at the righthand side the straigt edge. To complete also the two cloth stitch passives can be drawn. In these examples they are not drawn.

motif flower

For the fan using one pin first we draw on another layer a circle as guide. The centre should be straight under the most outer point of the cloth stitch trail above. The circle has to be that big, that it crosses the dot next to the most outer point of the cloth stitch trail above,

circle for the fan

Cut the circle at the dots horinzontal beside the top point and bottom point of the cloth stitch trails. Between these dots distribute another 7 dots on the circle part left. Do this on the layer with the drawing and not on the layer of the circle. Then we can easily make the layer with the circle invisible and still have the dots.

outside fan

The complete motif looks like this. The redundant dots and the guides are removed or made invisible. The more accurate the motif is drawn, the less we have to correct lateron. This motif is copied and paste against each other until approximately half the lenght from corner to corner.

complete motif

Draw a guide from the bottom dot of the fan diagonal to above. Along this guide cut the lines and remove the part of the motif beneath the guide. Only half a corner is left.

left-over corner

Select the complete lenght of the pricking by chosing “select all” (control key + A). Copy this (control key + C), rotate it 90°CCW and mirror it horizontally. Paste both drawings precisely connected to each other.
Correct the dots, trails and leaves which not joining correctly and the corner is finished.
